Project Overview
Built in 1904, this Edwardian mansion building is rich in architectural history and adorned with ornate period features. Thoughtfully renovated and restored by internationally acclaimed interior designer Laura Hammett, the property has been reimagined into a timeless blend of English heritage and modern luxury.
Respecting the building’s historic charm, the flooring was carefully specified to elevate its grandeur while maintaining a sense of warmth and authenticity befitting the property’s distinguished past.
Flooring & Finish
Trend Range plank and herringbone were specified as the foundation for this project. With 3.5-metre-high ceilings, the formal rooms are flooded with natural light, complemented by our Farnham finish the flooring sets an understated yet refined tone for the Laura Hammett living furniture and lighting, creating a masterpiece of classic contemporary design.
Design Detailing
The decorative plasterwork, intricate panelling and sweeping walls are key features of this property and reminders of the craftsmanship of an era. With timber floors a modern addition, Elesco were commissioned to design and manufacture a 15mm European Oak inlay. Tying the flooring in with the property’s period craftsmanship.
Each inlay was produced with double tongues for a secure installation. Custom curved sections were precision-crafted to frame the border around every aspect of the floor plan - a testament to the precision of our bespoke approach.
The Result
The finished space is a seamless dialogue between heritage and modern craftsmanship. Elesco’s bespoke flooring and inlays bring depth and cohesion to the property, enhancing its architectural detailing without overpowering it. The result is a quietly confident interior - timeless, light-filled, and crafted to the same exacting standards as the building itself.
