Project Overview
Bold flooring for a defining style. Although firmly modern, the interiors by Novo design hit the clients brief with its subtle nod to the art deco movement. The use of our bespoke ‘oversized’ mansion weave provides the geometric symmetry consistent with the era, establishing a confident and luxurious foundation for the rest of the interior.
Flooring & Finish
Our Salcombe finish is naturally warming for a lighter toned floor. Smokey undertones beneath a light grain wash instill a feeling of classic luxury whist its durable UV finish is practical for modern day family living. The large geometric pattern pared with our prime grade Riva plank was sets the underlying foundation for this thoughtful refurbishment. A forever home that has found its forever floor.
Design Detailing
The property is characterised by expansive rooms, wide circulation spaces, and long sightlines typical of high-end residential architecture of the period. Novo Design identified the floor as a key unifying element—one that could anchor the Art deco narrative.
Rather than opting for a conventional plank floor, @Nova_design opted for a patterned timber floor. Our bespoke manufacturing allowed the designer to incorporate a floor that feels deliberately larger in scale and execution.
The Result
The completed floor was the defining feature of the refurbishment, elevating the interiors and reinforcing the clients vision. The oversized Mansion weave adds both character and permanence, introducing a layer of craftsmanship that enriches the original structure rather than obscuring it.
